Beautiful Baptism

Our beautiful girl was baptized today. She is our youngest, therefore the last baptism. Since she is the only girl and the last, I went all out with white embellishments. I made her a lovely bracelet (on the doll's wrist), and added lace to a white towel. In her white dress and cardigan, she was breathtaking! I even got her a hand-made dress for her doll, along with a pair of white shoes! What a great reminder for her that she is clean and pure.

A Promising New Year

I have been enjoying a book that my sister-in-law gave me for my birthday last July. It is called "Simple Abundance" by Sarah Bran Breathnach. I want to share a quote from this book about the new year:
"New Year's Day. A fresh start. A new chapter in life waiting to be written. new questions to be asked, emraced and loved. Answers to be discovered and then lived in this transformative year of delight and self-discovery...time is the New Year's bountiful blessing; three hundred sixty-five bright mornings and starlit evenings; fifty-two promising weeks; twelve transformative months full of beautiful possibilities; and four splendid seasons."
I hope yours will be a year to be savored.

Best Friends

"Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us"~Alber Schweitzer
I am so lucky to have a best friend. I have known Rose for nearly 12 years and we have continued to grow closer every year. Last weekend she took me to Spark with her. It was an amazing event with friends, crafts, beauty and lots of creative inspiration. (will post more Sparks later!) I am a better person because I have Rose. Every chance we have to spend time together is a gift. I will always cherish our memories of Spark. Thanks to my special, beautiful, amazing, talented friend!!!

Spark} The Event!

What an amazing event it was! Spark was held at This is the Place Heritage Park in Salt Lake City. (One of my all-time favorite places!) My friend, Rose won 2 tickets for this awesome experience and she took ME with her! Margie, Jefra, Rhonna and Liz, you ROCK! These ladies deserve a big applause and lots of hugs. There was not one detail of the event that wasn't beautifully executed, tied with a bow and sprinkled with love. I learned so much about the creative process and the SPARK that is unique to each of us. This weekend nourished our creative souls and gave us opportunities to learn new techniques, experience different products and make new friends. I embellished a t-shirt, made a trinket necklace, started an art journal, and learned some great tips about being a better photographer.
As I was driving home late Saturday night, I was so consumed with excitement from the past 2 days that I had to pull over and put my thoughts in my journal. Here is a snippet of what I wrote:
"Sparks taught me to EMBRACE my ideas...own it, love it, share it! Then VENTURE to new places...be bold, be brave and be bodacious! Fill my life with TREASURES, embellish them, and let the process REPLENISH my well.
My mind is spinning, my heart is overflowing and my creative soul is bursting with energy, delight, and SPARKLE! Sisterhood is a sweet, necessary morsel that makes us better, brighter and stronger. Together we bouy each other to heigths that can't be reached alone. Nothing sparks another's light better than a sincere compliment. When women are strong and filled, there is PURPOSE. There is JOY. There is UNITY!
I want to spread the ENERGY. I want to PLAY. I want to SHINE! I want to create lovely things for others."
